Newsweek has an interesting interview with Eddie Izzard.
I’m really hoping I can get tickets to Stripped. Eddie’s one of my favorite comedians. His last show was one of the funniest I’ve ever seen.

Google News has a really cool new quoting feature.
If you search for a person’s name on Google News, you will get recent quotes from that person.
Then “clicking on the speaker’s name will take you to a page with even more of their quotes. From there you can search within the quotes by entering a query on the left side of the page”.
Matt Cutts talks about it some more here.
Fast Company has an interesting interview with Matt Mason, the author of The Pirate’s Dilemma.
Ludwig Pettersson has a great article on creating charts with PHP and Google Charts API.
Geeks are Sexy has a post on Johnny Lee’s TED presentation.
Very cool stuff. Definitely check out the video.
Lee has done some amazing things with the Wiimote.
Nerve.com and IFC.com have apparently collaborated on a list of the 50 greatest comedy sketches of all time (IFC’s version).
It’s a pretty good list, but what’s with the stupid cross-site pagination? Were they trying to distract and annoy the reader? Not only is it confusing, but they did it with target=”_blank” so it opens a new window (or tab) for each segment. I can’t understand how anyone thought that was a good idea, let alone at least one person at each site.
Anyway, I really need to watch the sketches I haven’t seen. The ones I have seen all belong on the list in my opinion, but at the very least I’d have to say both the Argument Clinic and The Cheese Shop (not on the list) are funnier than Dead Parrot.
I also didn’t realize that Four Yorkshiremen was not a Python original. I first saw it in Live at the Hollywood Bowl and just assumed it was theirs.
Check out this article on the new Segway RMP.
Watch the video. This thing is creepy.
Cool as hell, but creepy.
Feed Renderer is a little project I’ve been working on that basically emulates the main idea of Popurls.com using SimplePie. Basically I’m just playing around with the concept (it is in no way ready for prime time). I want to add an ajax updater so each feed can be updated independently.
SimplePie is an RSS and Atom reading object written in PHP. It’s pretty easy to use and really makes a project like this straightforward and simple.
Also, the function doRelativeDate was written by Garrett Murray (http://graveyard.maniacalrage.net/etc/relative/)
Source code for this project is available upon request.
Well, I finally set up a place to put everything from software projects I’m working on to links I come across and want to remember to random thoughts that I don’t want to forget but have no where else to put them.
In short, I don’t really know why I’m doing this.
I’m actually kind of curious as to why you are here, dear reader. I know I’m not interesting enough to warrant regular visits (this could very easily amount to mindless, self-indulgent drivel. …ok, that’s actually the most likely outcome), so what are you doing here? You are more than welcome of course, I’m just curious. Are you the type that stops and watches two drunk women fighting?
Yeah, me too.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy your stay. I will try my best to keep up with all the comments (and even try to respond to some of them), but I make no promises regarding anything by setting up this blog. I have enough rules and regulations in my life without creating new ones for myself. Thems the breaks. If you can handle that, I think we’ll do just fine.
