Saw Weezer at the Susquehanna Center in Camden on Saturday and they fucking rocked.

Obviously I’m not the guy to go to for unbiased reviews. I like what I go to because I don’t go see shit.

The Susquehanna Center felt like an armpit though. They seriously need to ramp up their ventilation system; especially if they’re going to put up the curtains and make it an indoor event. Fresh air would have done wonders to improve the overall experience, but as I said, Weezer rocked so it didn’t matter all that much.

If you are a Weezer fan at all and they are coming to your town, get off your duff and go. It’s worth it.

I love Quordy. I’ve always been a sucker for Boggle clones, but this is perhaps the best I’ve seen. If you have an iPhone, definitely check it out (it’s free).

It’s not perfect, but the interface is excellent and all my complaints are minor. I wish you could set the minimum word length at four letters and maybe a little more dictionary control, but for the most part it is made of win.

If you have an iPhone (or iPod Touch?) and wanna dual, sign up for an account and we can make asses of each other.

Sure beats doing work, right?

Like many of you out there I’m very excited about Google’s new browser Chrome.

The idea of a multi-process browser is very intriguing. This comic strip does a much better job of explaining it than I could do, but basically, it will make the browser much more robust and reliable for web applications.

In many ways Chrome still has a long way to go in order to match Firefox’s user experience, but its potential is enormous. I love that it’s open source. Google obviously has the resources to catch up to their competition in this arena and I believe very good things are on the horizon. The competition and collaboration (god bless open source!) that this will bring to the browser world will be a great thing for users.

I’m very much looking forward to OSX and Linux versions of Chrome as I only use Windows at work these days. Cross-platform support and just a few of the bells and whistles that the other browsers have (full page zoom, mouse gestures, etc.) and I think we’ll be looking at a serious competitor to IE and Firefox. Even if Chrome does not emerge as the dominant browser, it will force all browser makers to up their game. Hopefully Microsoft will be forced to adhere much more closely to web standards.

I am curious about adblocking. Google makes a ton of money on their ads. It will be interesting to see how they approach this issue with their browser.

Well, another summer come and gone. I’m looking forward to the cooler weather, but there is something undeniably lonely about the fall. I’m going to miss the long days. The darkness of winter here in Philly is really a drag.

I did have a great weekend down in Avalon with the family though. I didn’t do much, but that’s just the way I like it. It was nice to get out of town for a bit, but this Tuesday morning is giving any Monday I can think of a run for its money.

At least this will be a short week.
